FAQ
When do I use Endurosyn Canine Oral Gel versus Lactoquil?
Endurosyn is a 3-day probiotic oral gel for short-term use in support of digestive health during times of stress or transition. Pets that suffer from GI upset when boarding, traveling, training, or going to the vet are good candidates for Endurosyn.
Lactoquil is a daily probiotic soft chew specially formulated to assist in ongoing digestive health maintenance for dogs. If your dog has a history of a sensitive stomach or seems to suffer from on and off again GI upset, talk to your veterinarian to determine if your dog would be a good candidate for Lactoquil.
Warnings: Keep out of reach of children. For animal use only.
What is the difference between Endurosyn Canine Oral Gel and Lactoquil?
Endurosyn is designed for use during short stints of stress or transition (traveling, kenneling, etc.) that can cause GI upset. It contains probiotics and additional ingredients such as electrolytes, vitamins and concentrated energy sources to help support the protective layers of the bowel, as well as maintain proper intestinal pH.
Lactoquil is a daily probiotic soft chew to be used for ongoing digestive health support for dogs only. It contains high levels of live, viable naturally occurring beneficial bacteria (like some yogurts) to assist in healthy digestion and absorption.
Can I use Endurosyn Canine Oral Gel and Lactoquil together?
There are no known contraindications, but always tell your veterinarian about all the medications and supplements that you give your dog.
What could cause my pet’s normal gastrointestinal (GI) system to be disrupted?
A normal GI system has a healthy balance of microorganisms, but your pet’s system can be disrupted by:
- Dietary changes or indiscretions
- Stress from boarding, travel or hospitalization
- Antibiotic therapy
- Deworming
- Age
- Food sensitivities
Endurosyn Canine Oral Gel contains Caprylic Acid. What is this ingredient?
Caprylic Acid is a medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) found in coconut oil. MCT’s provide nourishment and energy to cells lining the GI tract. Endurosyn also provides electrolytes and amino acids to support and nourish cells along the intestine.
Can I use Endurosyn Canine Oral Gel on my cat?
No. Endurosyn Canine Oral Gel is labeled for use in dogs only. Endurosyn Feline Oral Gel should be used for cats.
Why does Endurosyn Canine Oral Gel contain several strains of bacteria?
The GI tract has a complex, intermixing array of beneficial bacteria, called the microflora. It is maintained in a careful balance that coats and protects the layers of the intestines. Under certain conditions, gaps or breaks in the microflora appear, creating opportunities for microbial imbalances to occur. This often leads to GI upset and distress. A probiotic with multi-strains of bacteria is able to utilize the strengths of each specific strain to promote proper gut flora balance.
How should Endurosyn Canine Oral Gel be stored?
Store at room temperature in a location your dog can’t access. It does not require refrigeration or any other special storage.
When should Endurosyn Canine Oral Gel be given?
Endurosyn can be given at any time. Provide fresh water at all times.
